What's a 2 year extension?

Okay, I am buying a phone for my daughter, and I am not sure what to get, the 2 year extension, or the one with no extension. What's the difference and what should I get?

2 year extension, means contract,u will be bind by that company to use the service for atleast 2 years, if in between 2 years u want to cancel that service u have taken,u will have to pay charges(termination fees)...no extension means no contract to sign and u r free to cancel the service when u want,when u like,u dont have to pay any termination fees....if u r sure that u like the service and will not cancel the service for 2 years u can take it...but if u r unsure its ur wish u take it or not but keep in mind the termination fees.....
