Certification is part of an official documentation that states you are "high qualified" or "highly skilled" in a particular area.  So if you have a teaching certificate or license, you can indicate on a resume that you have X certificate/license  with X certification/endorsement (if any).  For instance, on my teaching license, it states that I'm certified to teach k-12 music, with my endorsement (aka specialization) in instrumental music education.

Certification is a certificate of completion of the necessary course work and exams to teach.  What grades you are certified for is also a consideration.

It is considered a License.  Necessary to teach in any state in the US you must be a Certified/Licensed Teacher.
