Is a Moto Guzzi an Italian Harley? If so how did they get the blue prints so messed up to put the engine in sideways. How does Harley explain the Sprint and the Baja also made in Italy?

  1. no but guzzi does make a cruiser. And theres nothing wrong with the transverse twin. Honda copied it on one of their bikes.

  2. Motto Guzzi and Harley are not related or similar. However, just recently Harley Davidson bought an Italian motorcycle manufacturer so that it could have the more popular sporting presence in Europe. I can't remember which one they bought, (possibly M V Agusta). Soon you will see them at Harley dealerships here. This move also gives Harley access to a scooter manufacturer. Scooter sales are breaking records everywhere. The old 250 Harley Sprint was made for HD by an Italian maker back in the sixties. The same company also made the Allstate motorcycle for Sears Roebuck. A transverse V engine is not that uncommon. Honda had it for a while in the CX500 and CX650. Honda still makes a V4 for two of its current bikes: the VF800 and the ST1300. Both are outstanding machines.

  3. Hey dINAH, splain to me why the sudden interest in NON American bikes??????  stay away from the d**n Asti Stupidmonti wine and ciabatta sandwiches..... you need to get your American aSSS to some BBQ sandwiches and Pabst Blue ribbon beer.   greasy, fatty and tasty,,,,the good ole American way!!!!!

  4. The Guzzi is closer to an old BMW boxer than a' Hardley`.

    They're not bad bikes.

  5. Harley probably explains the Sprint and Baja by saying, " We had these motorcycles made in Italy so we wouldn't have to retool here in the USA, made some money off them and then said "the h**l with, to much bother when we're making a ton of money off are American made bikes".
