  1. mac duhh

  2. Macbook. FOR SURE. Especially if you're a high school or college student.

  3. A dell is the better bet. Reason being, the PC Mac is primarily on the market for 'fashion' not for doing work. If you need to do work on school work or college work - it really is not the one to get. Also, when thinking about wireless - I had a friend that I just got finished buying an IBM for. He wanted a Mac at first - because of the design. However, he ended up saving a lot of money in the long run - because the airport cards are only functionable for so long. You have to keep replacing them. Or- have to replace the air base. With a totally funtional wireless capable computer, you do not have to worry about that.

  4. I've never owned a Mac, but went to best buy recently and they had them on display.  Extremely impressed.  My next purchase will be a Mac, no question.

  5. Depends on what you plan to use it for.   I have both a desktop and a Macbook and I had owned a dell laptop a few years ago.  If you only plan on using the laptop for school, web browsing, listening to music, etc, pretty much anything that is simple and quick, a Macbook is definitely a good choice.  However, if you are looking to play a lot of games on it, have trouble converting files from PC format to Mac, are used to Windows in general, are more tech savvy and can handle yourself on a computer, go for a top of the line laptop from Dell.

I am in college right now and prefer to take my Macbook to class and it is easy to connect to the wireless network.  But as soon as I get home, I go straight to my desktop where I do the rest of my work, play some games, do video editing, or whatever I need to do that requires more sit-down time.  I would use a PC laptop for the same things if I had one.

  6. The top two laptops in reliability (Actually 1 and 1.a as there is no difference) are Lenovo and Apple. You will find Dell bringing up the bottom of the lists. Think of them as Chrysler, nice looking product, all bling, but cannot get out of the drive without the engine falling out. Dell has major quality problems with their systems (And has had for the last 5 years) system board and LCD screen failures are number one and two on the list. They cannot get the simple things correct either, like placing the keys incorrectly on a laptop keyboard (two recalls for this since June). Can't get the little things right, you are not going to get the major things right either.

  7. I have no idea what Dawn is talking about regarding MacBooks and wireless. MacBooks come with built in wireless "n", it works great. I've had one for almost 2 years and never had to "change?" or replace anything.

Until September 15th, Apple is giving away a free iPod Touch with a MacBook purchase. So you can save yourself $300 if you want both. Apple is supposed to come out with new MacBooks & iPods in 6 weeks though. Odds are no more free iPods then.

Get the midlevel MacBook with the dvd burner. With your education discount & free iPod, you'll spend about $1100. They'll both last you through high school.

  8. oh my god u shudnt be asking!  mac are the best!!!
