Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what is a blue book? It's on the list of stuff required for writing class and I have no idea what it is. I searched Amazon, but a bunch of non-writing related products were listed.

  2. Others here have answered the question.

At private universities, blue books are usually provided to the students in class.  In public universities, students sometimes have to get their own.  Your school probably sells them in the Book Store.

  3. It literally is a little blue paper book that professors ask students to get and is used for tests, usually an essay form test. It has about 12 or so blank pages in them, professors don't want you to use your own paper in case you write down the answers ahead of time and cheat. You get them at your school's book store and it costs less than $1.

Note: Some professors go around the room and check each blue book to make sure it has no little notes in them before the exam!! So beware! lol

This is what it looks like...

  4. based on what I know from college, a blue book like a notebook where students are supposed to answer their tests. usually issued or produced by the school.  I hope this is what your teacher meant.

  5. Blue books are little 5" x 8" stapled-together notebooks with maybe 16 ruled pages and light blue paper covers.  IIRC, they would be given out at the start of essay exams or math exams, etc, for you to write your answers in and then you'd hand them in. I'm a bit surprised the school is making you provide your own blue books for writing assignments!
