  1. A bogey is one over par. Different holes have different pars, A par is the number of strokes/hits to get in the hole, i.e.: hole # 5 has a 4 par, that means it shouldn't take anymore than 4 hits to get the ball in the hole (for par). If it takes 5 hits to get it in the hole, that's a bogey.
