Serve with yellow mustard & or ketchup for dipping.

My question for you since you're in the UK..

What's "bubble and squeak" and "hasty pudding"?

Is that some type of constipation medication?

Also, "toad in a hole" and "spotted d**k".

Is that some type of weird barnyard fetish?

Is shepherd's pie the same as cow pie here in the US?

Edit... Thanks for answering my question.

In regards to Catsup.  Catsup is just another way of spelling Ketchup.  Both are a sweet tomato based condiment.

    Ketchup/Catsup...

    Heinz uses Ketchup

Del Monte used Catsup, but changed it to Ketchup.

Why the change?  In the brilliant move by the US government, Ketchup was declared a vegetable, but not Catsup, even though the were both the same.  So Del Monte changed the name from Catsup to Ketchup in order to be classified as a vegetable and eligible for purchase into school lunch programs.   It was all very silly.

    From an old article...

Del Monte declares: Catsup is kaput

From: Chicago Sun-Times  |  Date: 12/15/1988  |  Author: Rob Kasper

Kiss catsup goodbye. After 70 years of spelling the tomato condiment "catsup," Del Monte has kowtowed to "ketchup."

Del Monte is now applying the K-word on bottles moving through its plants in Modesto, Calif., and New Brunswick, N.J. Gradually, the K-word bottles are replacing the C-word bottles on grocery store shelves around the nation. And by early 1989, bottles of Del Monte catsup will be kaput.

The corn dog or corndog is a hot dog coated in cornmeal batter and deep fried in hot oil, although some are baked. Almost all corn dogs are served on wooden sticks, though some early versions were stickless.[1]

Corn dogs are rarely served outside the United States, where they originated, though variations are found in Canada.

It's a hot dog, on a stick that's dipped into a corn bread batter and deep fried.  The coating gets golden brown and the dog is hot and juice on the inside.  Then you hold the stick and eat the corn dog.  You can dip in honey mustard, regular mustard, ketchup...whatever you like.  They're good, although you probably couldn't eat more than one.
