  1. Definitely Disneyland.  I don't think your girls would enjoy California Adventure at all.  Be sure you take a break in the middle of the day and let the girls take a nap.  My daughter was 7 when she went for the first time and was exhausted.  She needed a nap!  They will love Fantasyland as long as you go at their pace!  Be sure and have two strollers too.  Bring lots of snacks and drinks.  Don't forget hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.  Go to Disney.go.com and click travel.  Also, go to this site and try out different possibilities - it's fun!:

Then go here and click the pink button, Choose an Experience to see the attractions they will probably enjoy:

  2. Funny, I just went to Disneyland and California Adventures with my two little girls (both 3 and 1) this past January.  If I had to choose, I would choose Disneyland and here are their favorite rides:

My 3 year old LOVED Buzz Lightyear, and my 1 year old also liked it... she just sat there staring the whole time and we went on it probably 20 or so times.

Both of my kids really liked the new meet the princess area (just before you get to toontown).  They have a line you can wait in and meet 3 princesses guaranteed.  It's random as to which ones you will meet, but if you don't meet the one you want, talk to one of the Ladies in Waiting and they'll arrange a private meeting for you.  My girls got to meet Cinderella one on one that way.  There is even a dress up area, where you can buy dresses and have your hair and makeup done... and another area to learn how to dance.  It was a blast.  A lot of the little ones dress up like their favorite princess.  You should check out http://theprincessdress.com .  They have a bunch of reasonably priced princess dresses... way cheaper than you'll actually find at Disneyland.

My 3 year old really liked the rollercoaster in toontown.  The line was short and it wasn't too scary.

My kids both liked the teacups quite a bit.

They both liked the Winnie the Pooh ride.

My 3 year old liked the Tarzan's Treehouse.

My 3 year old really liked pressing coins at the penny arcade.

They both really liked the parade.

My 3 year old REALLY wanted to do the Jedi Warrior training and bawled her eyes out when she wasn't selected to be a Jedi.

The Nemo ride line is really long, but it's a lot cooler than you would have thought.  Both my kids really liked it.

They'll both like the Autopia ride.

The Matterhorn is the only really adult ride that your 3 year old will be tall enough to go on.  We did take our 3 year old on it, and now she's brave about it, but I would be cautious about this one.  Make sure to prep her that there will be an abominable snowman that roars really loud two times, once at the beginning and again at the end.

    Pinnochio was pretty fun.

Don't take them on the Snow White or Pinocchio rides... they're both a little scary for that age of child.

My kids really liked the train ride... where you get to sit in the cage and be a monkey.

We bought a autograph book and got all of the princesses to sign it, and my 3 year old really had fun with that.

    On an additional note:

I would also plan on bringing your own food for the kids.  We brought little portable cups of fruit and vegetables for them, and they loved them.  They didn't eat almost any of the Disneyland food that we bought for them, including the $8.00 peanut butter and jam sandwiches shaped like Mickey.

I bought little tags that they could wear around their neck with our name and phone number so someone could get ahold of us if they got lost... (we did have someone get lost in our party, and the necklace really helped out).

Don't stress about getting in all of the adult rides... if you're laid back about it, it will be really fun.  If you stress out the whole time about getting rides in, it will rub off on the kids and they'll get cranky.

    Have Fun!

  3. I live here and the only way to go is Disneyland.  The Cal Adventure is more of an "adult theme park" with vineyards and great food but not really "Disney" per se.

The characters (Mickey and the gang, plus the princes and princesses) are only on the Disney side too.  And every kid needs to see Mickey.

Disneyland is really the happiest place on earth!

  4. They are very close to one another, so with a park hopper ticket, I think you can do both, but maybe not in one day.  Disneyland is the tradional Disney, with lots of attractions based on the old classic cartoons, like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.  The Sleeping Beauty castle is in this park, as are many of the Characters like Alice and the White Rabbit, Peter Pan, etc.  There are a number slow rides, like the  train, the old time cars or horse drawn cars that ride down Main street, etc.  There is also a specific area of the park that is meant for small children (Toon Town).  Your kids will love "It's a Small World" and going to meet Mickey Mouse.

California Adventure also has some rides and attractions for kids, but they are more based on the newer cartoons, like a Bug's Life.  There are fewer rides in California Adventure for small children to ride, but this is where you will find most of the current "Disney TV" shows, like High School Musical's performance and the more adventurous rides.

California Adventure is a more grown up version of Disneyland.  It is the only park that offers wine tasting, beer purchases, etc.

I would choose Disneyland over California Adventure for your kids.  I think there is more for them to do.

  5. since your kids are so young...the original disneyland

they have many activities and rides kids love

cali adventure has too much extreme rides for them anyways

  6. Usually little kids always want to go to Disneyland, They have more of the classic rides that will never get old, even adults love disneyland its just a great place to go with your kids california adventure has more of the thrill rides but disneyland has more =]

  7. If you have really little kids, then I would suggest to go to Disneyland, because I believe that it has more rides/attractions that little kids would enjoy.  I have been to both parks before, and California Adventure seemed to be geared more towards a slightly older audience because it had a lot of water/thrill seeker rides and didn't have as many rides that little kids could ride or enjoy.  California Adventure has some awesome rides though...

  8. Personally, I think your children might be a little too young for either park ...

But, if you're going to go... I would recommend sticking with the original Disneyland park - there are sections like "Toon Town" and "Fantasyland" which are geared more towards those the younger audiences.

The park can be a great "wonderland" for children - but it can also be a sensory overload... there's a lot of waiting in lines for rides... lots of crowds... and children can get overstimulated & worn out by mid-day.

  9. Disneyland; both the parks are great, but Disneyland has more little kid attractions than California Adventure.

  10. Your girls would definitely enjoy Disneyland more since it is more designed to younger audiences. It has a the Disney magic and stories while California Adventure is more teen centered.
