What's a fair price for this used pressure washer?

It was bought new June 2005. Briggs and Stratton 2900 PSI. Price was 487 new. It's been used 3 times by my dad. My dad wants to buy it from me. What should I ask for it. He found a new one at Lowe's 3000 PSI for 389.

  1. Well, it is your dad, so it would be nice to cut him a slight break. I would say $350-360 is  fair. Even lower would probably be nice for him, haha. But since it is 3 years old, but was only used a couple times, it's probably in like-new condition. And the psi is close to the other one brand new, so it should be ok. Up to you though, whatever you feel comfortable charging your dad.

  2. well do you really want to charge your dad?would he charge you?just let him have it, and any time you need it he will be more then glad to do what ever you want done.if he insists on paying you.ask for 100.00 my bet is he will give you200.00.i have two daughters and one thing i know for certain, and old saying is true as true can be ...a son is a son till he takes a wife..but a daughter is a daughter the rest of her life.and we dads like our daughters to stay close .

  3. For a three year old pressure washer the price you paid has no relation to the current value. He can buy a new one for $389 with a warranty so you should expect to get about half the replacement cost. I would say it is worth no more than $200.

  4. Give it to him for free. He's your FATHER. Do you have any idea how much he HAS spent and WILL spend on YOU before you are 21? ALL of which he will never see again.

    P.S.

Sounds to ME like he's trying to teach you how to be strong and independent. To say he's not a good father based on THAT is wrong.
