Question:

What's a girl to do?

I have just resigned from a job where I worked as a contractor in a government office. By me just showing up and working made my supervisor feel threatened because she wasn't doing a whole lot. Upper management from other offices came to me for problem resolution because they didn't like dealing with her, but her manager didn't want to do anything to reprimand her because the race card was always threatened. If it had been private industry she would have been fired for the conduct she displayed, but such is the government office. I hate to keep resigning these positions as I have a government clearance and like the work I'm doing, but I continue to butt heads with these government people. I have no recourse, do I?

  1. Go to HR. I had a similar situation. I didn't work for the government though, but for a non-profit organization and it practically takes an act of God for anyone to be fired. I was dealing with an extremely unprofessional and spiteful supervisor so went to Human Resources and they assisted me in being relocated within the organization. I didn't even have to wait the whole 2 weeks! Good luck.
