What's a good, creative date to take a girl on in Kansas City tomorrow night?

We're both in our low 30s, live in the Plaza/Brookside area. I'm looking for an interesting, creative, good date for tomorrow night. Not too expensive, doesn't have to be cheap. Let's say < $200. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks!

  1. Do you know what she likes? what kind of food?

Everyone always goes for the "dinner and a movie" try something that will make her remember you... in a good way of course. If she is adventurous maybe you could try karaoke? Or if you can find a restaurant that has good food and dancing it would give you a chance to spin her on the dance floor ;) I'm not sure whats in kansas city but it would also be nice if you tried a comedy club, laughter is a good way to start out a date and it would help relax both of you.

However, if your more of the romantic side then you could try to create a dinner that you could take as a picnic somewhere that is beautiful. That could give you the chance to talk to her and get to know her.

I know this is a lot of random Ideas but I hope it helps and I hope your date goes fabulous. Good luck.

  2. I love the idea about doing dinner at the top of the Hyatt. I've always wanted to try that.

Here are a couple more ideas:

    * It's further away from you, but up in KCK, there are West Coast Swing dance lessons from 6:30 - 11, which could be a lot of fun if you're both either into dancing or have good senses of humor.

Actually, you know what - just check out the Pitch's event calendar. You know better than I do what and where you want to go, and they've got everything that's fun and hip in town.

    Good luck!

  3. Just over State Line there's a place called Dave and Buster's. It's a huge arcade/restaurant. The food is good [greasy] but the arcade is aimed at women, too. It's not nerd town. :) The place is huge so there's tons of stuff inside of it. I'm a girl and I had a blast when my boyfriend [now husband] took me there. Plus, there are a couple theaters by it if you want to do a movie too.

But you said you live in the plaza area. That's always a great place to stroll around at night...maybe you could take her to the Cheesecake Factory? It's nice enough to be classy but cheap enough to not break you. And the plaza has those horse and carriage rides if you want to be romantic.

Also, more downtown in the Hyatt Regency there's a restaurant called Skies. I don't know if you've ever been there, but it is so awesome. It's at the very top of the hotel, and it actually revolves. You can see the whole city, it's very cool. It's nicer and more expensive than other places, but you wouldn't go over your budget. If you had a drink, a meal, and dessert...you'd probably spend about $100 for the both of you together.

    Hope that helps! Good luck.
