What's a good Broadway song for a soprano for a talent competition?

I am performing in a talent competition that I have been in before. It is happening the last week of August. I need to decide on a good song for a soprano. I have a very high range. I can hit four octaves above middle C. I'm hoping to find a very good Broadway song. Someone else posted the same question, and I am considering

Carousel - If I loved you

The Phantom of the opera – Think of me

Les Miserables – I dreamed a dream

Les Miserables – On my own

The Phantom of the opera – Wishing you were somehow here again

Wicked – The wizard and I

I was also thinking of doing Tonight from West Side Story, or I Could Have Danced All Night from My Fair Lady, but I have done Tonight before.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER SONGS?

  1. On My Own is a mezzo song (with a big belt) as is The Wizard and I, and I Dreamed a Dream is an alto song (also with a big belt) so I'd be counting those out!  There are stacks and stacks of soprano musical theatre songs - If I Were A Bell from Guys and Dolls is one of my favourites.  You'll probably find more soprano songs in the slightly older musicals - today's new shows seem to be all about mezzos belting for all they're worth.

  2. Taylor the Latte boy

    The Girl in 14G

  3. I no longer make specific recommendations for songs to people I don't know because it's just a waste of my time.

Instead I will suggest you look at www.sheetmusicplus.com  they have the largest library in the world and have an entire section of broadway songs you can look through.

  4. I would suggest Think of Me, since you are one of few who can deal well with the cadenza at the end.  I also love On My Own, but I think Think of Me would be a better showcase of your talent.
