I want a DVD made by people who know what they're talking about; I'd hate to go and buy a how-to and it end up hurting me or something because the people are showing me wrong.

  1. Most of the people who make DVDs kind of have to be "experts" in their field, but it never hurts to read the back of the case and see what their qualifications are. Most will tell you how long they've been practicing/teaching yoga.

I like Rodney Yee. He has an AM/PM Yoga that comes with two different workouts: one for morning, and one for evening. He has several others too. I've tried a Denise Austin one that I didn't like because she's too much of a cheerleader.

  2. I recommend Shiva Rea's "Yoga Shakti"  http://www.amazon.com/Shiva-Rea-Shakti-M...  .

There is a short biography of her at her site http://www.shivarea.com/ .

Her "Yoga Shakti" dvd is unique among many yoga dvds in that it allows you selectively link practice segments allowing you to somewhat create/customize your own practice routine.
