It is for my 6 year old for the PS2. Which game would be the best and also, do you have any recommendations for buying a mat? I was looking on ebay, but are some mats better than others?

  1. For christmas two years ago my parents got me DDR supernova which is actually made by konami.  It came with the game and the mat.  I recommend supernova and supernova 2 because they have recent songs that a 6 year old might like.  The mat works really good, i play DDR alot and i've never had any problems with it and ive had it for 2 years now i believe.  Whatever you do dont go with a cheap one, they slide around and sometimes even if you are stepping on the arrow it doesnt register, my friend has a mat like this and i hate it.

  2. All the DDR games are fairly similar, although there was a disney ddr for the ps1 that would work with the ps2 (backwards compatibility).

As far as the mats go, for a 6 year old you can probably go with the cheaper flat roll-up style mats.  They are fine until someone starts trying to play on hard/expert - at which point they slide around too much.  After that I recommend the ignition pad by red octane - it has thick foam inserts to weight it down, and it is more response on the fast parts.
