What's a good Seattle restaurant where it's appropriate to dress formally?

My boyfriend wants to take me out to a place where we won't look out of place wearing a suit and a nice dress (he's the suit, I'm the dress). Unfortunately, most of the restaurants we've looked at have reviews that people dress fairly casually. Also, if you have any ideas of activities that one can dress formally for, that would be appreciated :)

  1. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

  2. Unfortunately a lot of formalish places are casual. I love that about Seattle most of the time, yet I hate it when I want to dress up. Too many heels never worn :( What about the Oceannaire?

  3. The Waterfront Grill on Pier 70 is nice.

  4. Canlis

This is a place where you feel welcomed. Run by the Canlis family, Canlis is the Pacific Northwest's most celebrated restaurant, winner of eleven consecutive Wine Spectator Grand Awards and two times James Beard runner up for best service in the country. Voted Most Romantic, Best View, Best Service, Best Design, Top Wine List and Wine Service, Washington Family Business of the year, and Best Overall Restaurant. At Canlis we are learners, and after 57 years of serving Seattle, they are just beginning to get things right. For more information, www.canlis.com

    Rover's

Rover's Restaurant is internationally recognized as the finest table in the Seattle area. Rover's offers a relaxed dining experience of the highest culinary caliber. Expect ever-professional service, and an award winning wine list.

    The Georgian

The Georgian features French-inspired Northwest cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Gavin Stephenson in Seattle's premier dining room.  The Georgian features live jazz music Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

  5. I know a few really good restaraunts in Seattle but non r dressy. Try the Pink Door

  6. Whenever I go to the Space Needle I see some people dressed super formal then others somewhat casual, so you would be okay to go formal there.  Maybe you should check and see if there are any performance type events to go to, like plays, ballets, etc. . .
