What's a good Spider Deterrent?

Does anyone know of a spider deterrent that would stop them running over my house alarm sensors and setting the alarm off!

I have seen something called Spider Ex online - does this work?

Any other suggestions [sane ones please] would be helpful

Get a cat.

The sensors need adjusting they are too sensitive,look after your spiders,they are the best friends we have,especially when your legs have been eaten by mosquitoes.

When the conkers are ready on the chestnut trees go anc collect them and put them in dishes around your house.  Spiders hate the smell of them and so it works as a great deterrent.

Scream loudly.....then get the bloke from over the road to come and  see them off the premises.  I call him my knight in shining track suit!
