Question:

What's a good beginner's Ukulele?

I wan't to start playing the Ukulele. I've been playing cello for seven, going on eight years, and I've decided that Ukulele is something different and new that I would like to learn.

Does anyone know any good Ukulele's that cost, say, under a hundred dollars? Thanks!

Yes, there are all kinds of ukes under $100.  Even good ones.

I advise all beginners to start with a Lanikai with geared tuners.  Friction tuners are a bear for beginners learning to tune.  And if you play a cello I suggest you buy a concert or tenor size uke b/c your fingers are accustomed to stretching and the tenor has larger frets.

Also, see if there's a local ukulele club in your area and visit it.  You'll be glad you did b/c you'll find all kind of ukes and every ukster I've met are nice people that will gladly help you with any questions.

However, here's some sites to help you.

Oh yeah, a baritone ukulele doesn't tune the same as a regular uke.
