  1. Just buy one at walmart they are cheap and you can learn to play on it

  2. Well I got a First Act acoustic guitar form walmart because it was cheap, also I didn't know how commited I would be to it so I wasn't spending to much money just in case I didn't like it.

I got it as a gift but I believe it was around 50 $ and I have a set-up done because the action on the guitar was pretty high. that costed 25$.

  3. i got a Jay Turser

    stays in tune decently

    price - 100 - 200

  4. jay turser is pretty decent

  5. If you are a beginner, you can find a used one on Craigslist (www.craigslist.com look under musical instr.). You could also go to a music store and purchase a used one for a good price. The benefit of the store is that you can tell them you are a beginner and ask for an instrument that stays in tune well and request strings that are light. This will make it easier on your fingers as you learn. You may also want an electronic tuner. I would not spend more than 200-300 on the guitar. You will find lower prices on craigslist. A tuner should be less than $25.

You will find an experienced teacher (perhaps at the store) can really help you to learn the instrument, how to change the strings yourself, tune it, and good techniques to get started.

I play guitar too. My first acoustic which I still use today was purchased almost 15 years ago at my local music store. It stays in tune great. I really appreciate this. Very high end brands for acoustic include Taylor, Martin and then you will find Takamine, Washburn, Fender, ect.

    Good luck!

  6. Never buy a First Act guitar or any instrument from Wal-Mart as you will kick yourself later. Go to your local pawn shop and take a look around. Most pawn shops have pretty decent guitars for decent prices. My first acoustic was a $65 Washburn that I picked up at a pawn shop which was still in great condition. Check Amazon.Com if you don't mind buying online, they have a fairly inexpensive Takamine acoustic for around $88 if you're on a tight budget.

If you have some money and are willing to be patient, just go to your local music shop and check out what they have there. There's loads of decent Yamaha and Takamine guitars in the lower $200-250 range.
