What's a good birthday present for a kindergarten boy turning six?

I'm looking for a present in the 10-20 dollar range. Preferably nothing violent, too noisy or super messy for the parents to clean up. Thanks in advance for your suggestions

depends what the boy likes, maybe a cheap video game? or maybe some trading cards for his favorite type of tv show? ask the parents what the kid is into.

lego. It is great for this age. If he can read look at some books but lego is always a winner and comes in all price ranges

Well, I have 4.5 yr old twin boys.. and let me tell you.. you can buy them something from the dollar store and they love it.  My boys seem to love anything new, even if its old.. lol..  So Im sure anything you pick out will be great...  Most boys love TRUCKS!!  so thats always a safe gift!

Games, there is a fun one out there called Hyperdash

One of those super  huge frisbees (soft/cloth, sold at target)

A slip and slide

They make a rocket sprinkler that the boys love (Splash Rocket)

Sports balls, i.e. basket ball, soccer ball, baseballs, playground balls

Kids Fishing pole

They make a ton of cool science kits for kids in this age range, Target has them and all the learning stores.

They have these cool transformers that are about $20.  My boys love them.  They have the optimus prime and bumble bee ones.  They do make noise, but they can be turned off if need be and I don't find them too annoying.  Or how about some star wars dress up costumes?   My boys love this kind of stuff.
