Question:

What's a good book for a teen girl?

Here's the thing. I've never liked reading books because I could never find one that really interested me. I like books that are funny, involve love, or both. I really only like books that are realistic in some way. Not things that are about old times when there were castles and princesses that needed rescued.

Can anyone help me find a book to read?

  1. The Specialists: MODEL SPY by Shannon Greenland (First book in series)

Teen genius Kelly James is in a lot of hot water. A whiz with computers, she agreed to help her college RA, David, uncover some top-secret information. After all, she doesn't have many friends and David has always been nice to her. It doesn't hurt that he's supercute and irresistible, too. All she has to do is hack into the government's main computer system. But a few hours later, her whole life changes--she is caught and taken in for questioning, only this isn't your run-of-the-mill arrest. Rather than serve a juvenile detention sentence, she accepts the option to change her name and enlist in a secret government spy agency that trains teen agents to go undercover. As if that wasn't overwhelming enough, she discovers that David works for this agency as well! And before she even begins to understand what is going on, she's sent on her first mission as an undercover model. And who better to partner with than David himself!

  7. "Before I Die" by Jenny Downham

It's about a 16 year old girl with cancer. She has a list of things she wants to finish before she dies. Really good, I just finished it 2 days ago.

"What I Was" by Meg Rosoff

About a teenage boy (his name isn't stated in the book) who falls in love with someone he always wished he could be.

"Lottery" sorry, I forgot who it's by.

It's a relatively new book about a man who is slightly retarded and how he wins the lottery, which changes his life.

They're all realistic, second one not as much, but it's still really good.

  12. All Judy Blume books are great for teenage girls. I was just like you, didn't like reading at all but to everyones amazement, I actually couldn't put these books down!

I'd start with 'Blubber' or 'Deenie'.

These books are all about teenage girls and things they go through, but they're not pathetic, there's actual storylines. highly recommended.

  13. boy meets boy

    the catcher in the rye

  15. I am 13 years old all my friends and i love this book:

    "Runaway"

    By: Wendelin Van Dranen

  16. The Pretty Little Lairs Series.

It's a realistic mystery and is really good and interesting. It's a little scary at times though. I don't suggest reading it before bed.

  17. Go for the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers.  If you don't think you can handle a four book series just yet, then go for HOST, also by Stephenie Meyers.  I picked up Host one Friday after work and finished it Saturday night.  Then I was mad it was over!  I just fell in love with everyone in the book.   Stephenie is a great writer and her characters are very believable.  Do yourself a favor and check out Host and the Twilight series.  By the way to all of you out there gagging, I am NOT a silly teen-aged girl.  I'm old enough to be a silly teen-aged girl's parent.

  18. airhead - meg cabot (very fictitious but very modern)

pretty little liars (mystery very intense)

sweet sixteen - kate brian (boring at first but sooo good and soooo sad in the middle and end)

but give more books a chance a lot are slow at first but get better and better you just need to get into them.

  19. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

..unless you already watched the movie

  20. isnt there a book called like beautiful women or something yeah read that

  21. Definatly the Twilight series. Best romance you'll ever read.

  27. Do not read Twilight. It is like the princess who needs rescuing, just a modern version of it.

I would read the Gemma Doyle Trilogy, which includes

    A Great and Terrible Beauty

    Rebel Angels

    The Sweet Far Thing

The heroine in the book is headstrong, stubborn, and just the type of girl everyone should look up to!

    I'm positive you'll love them.

Oh and of course, anything by Meg Cabot! Romance, humor - everything is in her books.

  28. You should try Louise Rennison as she is so funny it made me cry in parts of her books, the main character is a teen and she is trying to fall in love.

You should try them, its not easy when you've not read for a long time to get back into it again but you should try.

I'm guessing you like watching films though and the film of Louise Rennison books called Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is just out and you could go and see it as a treat after you have read it as a treat.
