What's a good cage sand depth for my sulcata tortoise cage

My 2 juvenile sulcata Tortoises have about 2 inches of strained, screened sand in their cage, but they're always digging and when they hit bottom of the cage they get disappointed, and dig somewhere else. Should i add more sand?

  1. We also have two sulcata and found a type of bark at the pet store called Repti Bark.  They like to dig in that. I heard the sand is bad for them because they ingest it and get it in their eyes.  We have ours in a super sized aquarium.  We take them out during the day to "graze".  They are really cool!  You have to do what seems to work for you.  Everyone has an opionin!
