I don't want something real fancy, that has a lot of equipment. Just something simple, but can help me take really great photographs.

I have just fallen in love with taken pictures, and want to take my hobby farther.

  1. Simple would be the Canon PowerShot A550, or A460. About $100-, Also a simple camera would be the Canon A560. Maybe $130-- Enjoy taking photos of your pets.

  2. i looked up a few cameras, and i have to agree about canon.

    specifically, the powershot g9.

it has a lot of great reviews, and the samples look extremely professional.

one aspect that i feel is necessary for the beginner is shutter and aperture priority, meaning you can manually set the shutter speed and aperture yourself.

i started with a similar camera 3 years back, and now i've got my own photography business.

of course, i've upgraded to an slr since.

    good luck with everything!

  3. Good point and shoots...Cannon has a great line...little pricy...but they stand by their product...

Samsung, S850..Great point and shoot..simple..not too expensive

Stay away from Kodak...Terrible shutter lag

Sony...Good cams, but only compatible with SONY products..ex...Memory cards and such...

    Hope it hleps...Good luck...
