My husband and I are looking into cars for our 17 year old daughter. She doesn't want a small, low-to-the-ground car(she's grown up in minivans). What would be a good car (or truck) for her? Also we are very concerned about the cost of insurance for her to drive it. So I guess the final question is what kind of car would have low enough insurance for her to drive, while still not being a small car?

  1. Toyota RAV 4 or Honda CRV.

  2. I suggest a 4 door saturn. They get between 32 to 44 mpg. Also low insurance, Make sure you avoid red, yellow or black in color. Those are high in insurance because they are racing colors and black isn't very visible at night. Pickups are higher in insurance because kids tend to take them off road etc. and insurance companies know that so even if your daughter won't do that-she suffers with higher insurance

good luck and remember check out saturns

  3. Get a car that is 7-9 years old with good safety features. Something like a Honda Civic or

Toyota Corolla. Those cars get great gas mileage, are reasonable to insure, and are

    relatively inexpensive to maintain.

C'mon people a SUV for a first car? Soon you'll need a loan just to keep them in gas! And what about fixing the dents a new driver will put into it?? Wasted money.

  4. Try to possess as much information as you can maybe is one option, however it is time consuming, here is the one i have ever had good experience with.http://carinsurance.expertsupport.info/a...

  5. I as well grew up in a minivan...when I was a young kid. My parents kept having kids and we ended up getting a 15 passenger. My idea for my first car was going to be something sporty looking with really good gas mileage. However, things didn't quite work out that way and I ended up getting...A MINIVAN. yeah, not to impressive for a first car for a 19 year old guy. It ended up working out pretty good though, it was the right deal at the right time...just not the right car. When I brought it up with my insurance agent he said that having a green minivan would probably get me just about the best insurance rate he had to offer. And the gas isn't all that bad.

  6. Cmon now, everyone knows saturns are peices of you know what.

  7. a chevy hhr. its not as low as a car and gets better fuel ecnomy than an suv or a saturn vue

  8. The safest SUV  the made the top ten is the toyota RAV 4.  I have been doing my homework and I would have to go between that or the crossovers like the ford freestyle.
