What's a good career in allopathic medicine for somebody who doesn't like allopathic medicine?

i thought of pathology but i don't like dissection...

what else is there?

  1. On the surface, skep doc is basically right.  Odds are you won't be happy unless you just jump over to alternative medicine and use your MD to give your credibility in it.

    Assuming you don't want to do that though, I thought about your Q for a while, and I vote osteopathy or rural medicine.  If I end up coming up with a random niche specialty field you could choose which would work too I'll tell it to you.

  3. Uhm...I would humbly suggest not going into medicine at all.  Why would you choose to do something you don't like?  If you don't like science, or people, or thinking, or endlessly filling out insurance forms (had to throw that one in).......then medicine is not a good career choice.  

    (FYI...pathology mostly involves looking at slides on a microscope, not dissection. )

    Also, the word "allopathic" is generally considered a pejorative term.  It refers to the type of medicine that was practiced in Hahnemans time (purging, leeches, balancing the humours) as distinct from his proposal of homeopathy.
