  1. Well, everyone is going to tell you Santa Fe. It has galleries, museums (Georgia O'Keefe!), etc. But it's become rather touristy. My suggestion would be to visit Santa Fe on a day trip, and then stay overnight in Albuquerque, where you'll find the hotel prices a little more affordable. Albuquerque doesn't always get its proper due - it has a definite hipster vibe to it around the campus area. It also has some spectacular places to go hike, as well as a couple of park areas featuring ancient petroglyphs that are worth seeing. Visit soon (Aug 2-5), in time for the annual Shake and Bake Festival (see the link below). LOTS of belly dancing going on! This is a fun festival - Amaya's been doing it for years, and it's a blast.

Oh, and you DO understand that New Mexico is part of the U.S., and this is a website for visiting Mexico? My brother lives in New Mexico, and says people still get mixed up regarding New Mexico's U.S. statehood.

  2. Santa Fe and Taos are the best in my opinion and they are not Mexican, they are Native American.

  3. Santa Fe, of course.

But this section is MEXICO, a whole other COUNTRY.

  4. I do hope you know that you posted this question in the Mexico section. Yes, the country.

  5. Las Cruces, it has New Mexico State University and is close to El Paso and Juarez, Mexico, if you want to do some shopping.  Lots of nice restaurants with authentic New Mexican Food, tastier and spicier than Mexican or TexMex.
