Question:

What's a good convertible baby car seat that can be used from baby to toddler to booster?

I'm trying to avoid getting an infant seat and then a toddler seat. The thing is that the infant seat usually snap off without waking the baby. I don't think the convertible ones do this. Is it worth it?

  1. it is worth it to get a seperate infant one, prevents waking the baby every time you get in and out of the car but  britax car seats are good if you just want to get the 1, most of them go from 5lbs. to either 40-100

  2. We bought the Alpha Omega Elite Convertible car seat because two of our friends have it and just rave about how great it us. Apparently it is really easy to install, but i dont think you are ever gonna get that easy in and out the way you do with an infant seat that hooks into one of those bases.

  3. Giggle.com is one of the best sites for all baby products….they have an amazing interface and a ton of content and products……Here is a link for some discounts as well if you are interested… http://bit.ly/NLNse

  4. As the mom of a baby who would happily fall asleep in the car, I think they are worth it.  We dreaded the transition to the convertible seat, though things have gone well.  We had the Graco Safeseat and the Graco stroller frame and swing into which you can put the carseat.  We installed the Britax Diplomat convertible carseat recently.  The other problem with getting only a convertible seat is that, unless the ratings have changed, the best infant seats (often the Graco Safeseat and Snugride get the highest ratings) aren't even from the same companies that make the best toddler seats (you'll often see the Britax models getting high ratings).  Finally, infants are safer in the infant seats, so you have to consider that, too.

  5. I would say go with the infant car seat that has the base that says in the car.  Then once the baby outgrows that buy this one

It will stay with the baby until he/she doesn't need a car seat anymore because it has the belt positioning harness.

  6. i have one that is for all three. i think its great to have, but.... unfortunatly i dont think its worth it. its so big. i mean, an infant carseat is big for a newborn but this can be used for an infant too but its just HUGE! plus i like have one extra even though we only have one car. i cant tell you how many times one of my friends have to give me a ride and they didnt have a car seat. i think its better to have one though for reasons like having only ONE extra car seat when you have multiple children at differnt stages.
