  1. A really good film one is the Canon Rebel G and by now they aren't that expensive. For a digital one Either the Nikon D40 or the Canon Digital Rebel (all are good). If you are doing mainly portrait type pictures go with Nikon. But canon does everything else better.

  2. Whats your price range what type of pictures do you shoot?

Low light? Actions? Land scape?Lots of wild Animals?

  3. Many retailers still have the Rebel XTi (now replaced by the XSi) for sale.

You could also wait for the Rebel XS to come out with its announced price of $700 with the 18-55 IS lens, which IMO is optically improved over the kit lens the XTi is normally packaged with.

  4. Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sony, Sigma and Olympus all have good starter DSLRs that'll give you good to great images if you do your part. Some have better glass at certain focal lengths for the price. Decide on which type of photography that you are interested in, and choose the brand that is better for that type of photography that has the best lenses for it. Each brand has it's good and bad points for a each type of photography, sports/action, flash, portrait, landscape etc.

  5. check out the Aiptek PocketCam 8200 8-MegaPixels here

real good value for the money at $140 bucks or so. Not sure where you can buy it from.
