Question:

What's a good excuse for turning in homework late?

Over the summer for AP Spanish, my Spanish teacher sends us homework every week. We have to read one chapter of this Spanish novel and E-mail him a summary in Spanish by the end of the week (Sunday). He forgot to send us homework one week and assigned two for one week, both due by July 21. Being lazy like I am, I haven't done both and it's about 3 weeks late. What's a good excuse?

I was debating between computer virus or that I went on a trip and forgot to tell him beforehand. Which seems more believable?

Haha my teacher is a hard *** and might not accept it. And please don't lecture me about doing homework on time. I always do, but it's the summer. I actually did go on a trip, but it was only four days haha.

  1. Try this:  It took me quite a while to get a good excuse for turning it in late on Yahoo! Answers.

  2. I would go with the trip but make sure your parents are cool with backing up your story in case he asks. Or have them call him :)

  3. How about I couldn't find anyone on Yahoo Answers to do it for me?

  4. I'm afraid that no matter what excuse you give, the teacher might ask why did you not inform him when the homework was due instead of three weeks later. He will put you on the spot and your nervousness will give you away.

Why not just submit the homework and admit that you have no excuse as to why it is late. Accept your punishment and move on. This level of maturity will impress your teacher and may help when you encounter other problems with that teacher.

  5. Explain to your teacher (in spanish) that you are lazy and sometimes a procrastinator. This being one of those times, you will make up the work as needed and try your best not to do it again.

    or

Explíquele a su maestro (en español) que usted es perezoso y, a veces, un procrastinator. Este es uno de esos momentos, usted hará el trabajo, según sea necesario y pruebe su mejor no hacerlo de nuevo.

    Good luck!

  6. Your dog ate your homework. He's a Spanish spaniel..
