  1. Try not to lie, but if you have to just stretch the truth so when you get back your not trying to keep up the story.

I would ring and say that things have been full on lately in work and in your personal life and you are finding that you are beginning to burn out and would like a day off to pick yourself up again. Say that you think your work is suffering and think you would benifit from refreshing.

However, you should also ask yourself why are you tired? Are you unhappy with work? Do you get enough sleep? You might need to talk to your boss about this or change parts of your lifestyle so you don't get so stressed and tired.

  2. Lie and be creative. But, lying is not a good way. I suggest that you tell them that you are tired.

  3. Of course tell them you feel like you have stomach flu and no

    way can you work.

  4. Just tell them the truth...you need a mental health break.

  5. Do you have a friend or relative going through a hard time break-up, divorce, illness etc..

Or better yet a death in the family.  If you can find someone you need to be there for, you can say that you have a family crisis or that you need to help a relative.  Don't tell a complete lie.  Think of someone who really does need help or needs to be cheered up and go do it and then spend the rest of your day relaxing at home.

  6. Tell them you're in the hospital for exhaustion. They are not allowed to ask for a doctor's note unless you call out more than 3 days in a row, I believe.

  7. If you want to leave early, start going back and forth to the bathroom ,and then finally go up to the boss and say that you have a stomach bug and need to go home before you get worse.

  8. I was about to give a smart-ar$ed answer because I thought you were somebody who doesn't work hard .. BUT your explanation changed that ......

IF you have any kind of decent employer... you should be able to call in and just tell the truth... explain that you are really very tired and you just feel as if you need a DECENT break ... in order to be able to do the job to your best ability.

If though you have a boss that doesn't appreciate the efforts you have put in over the month...then by all means just call in as sick .. take that day off.... I normally don't like faking a sick-day but you can't be expected to DIE for the company!!
