Question:

What's a good free piece of software with which I can edit DVD-RW camcorder footage?

I have a DVD camcorder and use DVD-RW discs. I want to be able to import the discs into an editing tool, cut and edit them and then archive them. I've tried various tools but the ones I've found either don't import DVD-RW material, or else have poor quality editing functions. I want to be able to slow down the video to a frame by frame and make cuts there.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

If there simply aren't any free ones, has anyone got a recommendation for one to purchase, preferably cheaply?!

Many thanks.

  1. there is almost always something for everyone at  download.com

  2. XP/Vista windows movie maker is a decent free video editing app, however, it doesn't support dvd.vob files such that u wud have to secure a good video converter.

However, there are intermediate video edting apps w/c support dvd.vob, some of which offer one month free trial...try video studio.
