Would like to replace the grass w/ some type of ground cover. Many of my neighbors use rock or pebbles; I'd rather use some type of plant.

  1. mondo grass if you're where it will grow... or liriope MUSCARI, not spicata!!.... muscari stays in bunches... always green, only needs cut once a year and blooms for you, too!!...

  2. liriope or mondo grass

  3. Ground cover clover seems to be very, very hearty as well as pretty. The only thing that kills it is dog urine, it seems.

  4. Depends on if you have snowy Winters.  If so, and your town deals with the snow by putting down salt, then don't attempt plants there.  However, if you are in some spot that gets little or no snow, I'd go with Vinca.

  5. I don't know the names, but there are plenty of plants they call "treadables" at the nursery.  They can be quite attractive too.

  6. Vinca minor and creeping thyme are nice.
