  1. There have actually been a lot of studies that have shown that Fish Oil can help with ADD/ADHD. It seems too simple, and that may be one reason it wasn't really looked at closely for this, but the EPA and DHA in Fish Oil help with all sorts of things including heart health, skin health, and brain health.

Give it a try... it's economical, safe, and easy. Just make sure that the company you get it from uses Molecular Distillation because that's currently the only safe way to remove any trace contaminants of any heavy metals. Good luck!

  2. Hi 'guy from alaska' -

You've been given some pretty good suggestions so far.  Here's what I would add:

I usually first ask my clients / patients about the extent of their ADHD and the reason they were placed (or suggested to be placed) on medication.

Medication being a very controversial topic, people always want to know the alternative treatments (and I fully support this).  BUT - there are going to be symptom presentations in some people where medication is the optimal method of treatment (at least in the short term).

That being said, I would seriously ask you to consider how your symptoms are interfering with your life (or in what areas) and then what are your goals?  What do you want to see changed?

Natural supplements might help - like Omega3 Fatty Acids, along with other options for alternative / natural / over the counter approaches.

At the same time - you would want to evaluate your diet and consider the amount of exercise you are currently getting.

Last but not least - I would strongly encourage you to find what strategies you can implement in your life that will minimize some of the struggles or challenges you face.

Just my $0.02.  Hope it is helpful.

  4. A regular schedule, plenty of sleep and a really good balanced diet will do more for you than any "supplement".

Ritalin - from my observation of children and young adults with ADD and ADHD - doesn't turn them into "zombies". It helps them focus.

  5. a lot of patience,or a shovel from b+q

  6. Australian Bush Flower Essences Cognis

I has helps some that were on Ritalin for instance and can cope when sipping on this. non drug solutions.

Watching grains, sugars, preservatives, dyes and such is also helpful.

  7. Weed It is nature and available or the counter(Only in California)

  8. omega 3s.

I prefer ground flaxseed over fish oil. ginko biloba and grape seed extract are also good.

  9. To add to the above answer...

Carlson's fish oil is good.  It is free of mercury, cadmium and other harmful metals that can be concentrated in fish.  It is also liquid and requires a teaspoon a day and comes in lemon and orange flavor.

I had a nurse practitioner (who concentrates in more natural ways) tell me that liquid fish oil is so much more potent than caplets that it is economical to pay for the liquid.  I recently visited her over a skin issue and she said the A and D in Fish oil is the best way to deal with it internally.  She also recommended Cod Liver Oil for more of those vitamins in wintertime.

  10. Booze

  11. A diet with a very low refined sugar intake might perhaps help as sugar can aggravate ADHD.  See item 107, as well as items 3, 17, 73, 81 and 119, in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .
