  1. Why don't you write a sequel? It would go like this. War came to the Isles and he was sent away to fight in the Colonies. She hears that he perished in a storm and bereft attempts suicide, but fails. She does lose her unborn child though. Because the war goes badly for the British, she becomes a pauper and has to move in with her family. I would probably save til the last few chapters that he did not perish at sea but was saved by Iroquis Indians helping the Americans. After the war he comes back and takes her to France.

  2. I don't really know, I've always been suspicious of the sequels, in case they're too cheesy or something. But, I would recommend reading Mansfield Park, Sense and Sensibility,or Emma next. All are really good.

    Happy reading!

  3. Pemberley, a site that has all things Jane Austen, lists many sequels written for various books Jane Austen wrote. Check http://www.pemberley.com/janeinfo/austse... In most cases, this site will tell you whether or not a particular sequel is any good.

I have been a bit leery about reading a sequel, written by someone else, of my favorite novel: Pride and Prejudice.

I did read Old Friends and New Fancies: An Imaginary Sequel to the Novels of Jane Austen by Sybil Brinton, which was the first sequel. In it you will find some characters from each of Jane Austen's novels. I'd recommend the book, but only after you've read all six full novels which Jane Austen wrote. If you are interested, check the summary and reviews at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Old-Friends-New-Fa...

My second favorite Jane Austen novel is Persuasion. It is, in my opinion, the most romantic of Jane Austen's books. It's a great story.

If you enjoyed the sister aspect of Pride and Prejudice, you may prefer reading Sense and Sensibility next.

If you enjoyed the "comedy of manners" aspect of Pride and Prejudice, you may want to read Emma next.

Northanger Abbey - featuring Jane Austen's youngest and most naive heroine - is a great satire of the Gothic romances so popular in Jane Austen's day. Mansfield Park is Jane Austen's most somber book, with a heroine who is rather too insipid, but it's still a great story.

    I hope this helps.

  4. I've seen some sequels in bookstores. i know there's one about Darcy's daughters or something like that.

But I recommend Sense and Sensibility and Mansfield Park. they're both great.

  5. I've saw these trilogy books but I don't seem so sure if the book trilogy of "lengthened" Pride and Prejudice still bears the original title.

The book trilogy just bears the plot of the original story but was fully expanded as the book says.

  6. I recently read 'Mr Darcy takes a Wife' by Linda Berdoll and I simply couldn't put it down- well worth reading. I haven't read it, but I believe 'Mansfield Park' is also worth reading along with 'Emma'.
