  1. WAX   !!!

  2. The old canning wax that has been referred to by another is called Parafin.  You can purchase it (really cheap) at BiMart, WalMart Safeway.  I have done the same thing very successfully.

Here is a neatness tip.  Find an old metal coffee can either the 1 pound or the 3 pound size (This will probably be the hardest to find).  Use this to melt the wax.  Place the coffee can in a Dutch oven.  fill the Dutch Oven about half way with water.  Put the Parrafin, crayons and any scent you want in the coffee can.  tie the wick to a pencil and place the pencil over the container you are going to fill with wax with the wick stuck down to the bottom.  We like to use canning jars and all sorts of flame retardent containers for making candles in.  That way, when it gets low, you can scrape out the wax and refill them later.

My Girl Scouts used to love making these.

  3. Soy candles are growing wildly in popularity, and the websites below have a great deal of detailed info on all the different types of soy waxes and fragrance oils, as well as on how to mix for different applications. The 'Candlemaking 101' section at the first site is particularly good.

    Hopes this helps.

  4. if you can still find it you can use old canning wax, you can use your favorite cologne. just be careful how much you use. you can get sents at michaels or hobby lobby. if you have any old crayons you can use them for color.
