What's a good restaurant in downtown Sydney (CBD) that's not super expensive (for out-of-towners)?

Not interested in restaurants like Guillaume at Bennelong or Tetsuya's or est. as they are pricier than I want. But this is for out-of-towners and their first visit to Sydney, so I'd like something decent but special to Sydney if possible.

  1. I'm not sure about special to Sydney but one of my favourite restaurants is 'Mamma's Kitchen'. There's one on Goulburn St (near the cinemas and world tower) and another above the markets in China town. It's a nice atmosphere, especially on a Friday or Saturday night, and you can get pasta as cheap as AU$3.50. There is also pizza and more expensive pastas, going up to about $11. It's a restaurant but not very expensive and still very tasty! They also serve gelato (Italian ice-cream) which is a treat :)

  2. try mc donald.they do to go too.
