Question:

What's a good show for a high school to do?

I'm gathering ideas of potential plays our high school drama club could put on. It can't be a musical, and usually there aren't many guys who audition - a smaller cast would be great, but any ideas are welcome. Also, we're leaning more towards comedies, because they're thinking it'd draw more guys in to audition rather than if we'd do Shakespeare or something, lol.

  1. how 'bout enter laughing?

  2. you should really look into 'enter laughing' it's really funny and you'll really enjoy doing it!

  3. Some really great ones:

"All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned In Kindergarten"

    "Enter laughing" (as posted before)

    "Harvey"

"Our Town" (although, the cast is large)

    Hope that helps!

  4. You Can't Take it With You

    The Diary of Anne Frank

Anything Shakespeare works really well in high schools. (many parts can alter the gender, you don't have to pay rights, you can change the time period of the setting.)

Noises Off is done a lot in high schools

    The Crucible

    The Good Doctor

The Miser (Moliere is good also.  No rights, flexible casts, very funny, flexible time period setting).

    The Imaginary Invalid

    The Bourgeouise Gentlemen

First ones that come to mind.
