Question:

What's a good song to walk into during a wedding reception?

I have to listen to all her music for the whole reception. A bunch of pop music, young and old, the same music you hear at every wedding. But I get one song choice, what we walk into. I was thinking something funny like a movie or TV theme (Star Wars or Family Matters etc) or something that won't be played during the wedding (Third Eye Blind, Pearl Jam etc). Any ideas?

  1. What about the married with children song you know " love and marriage" we were going to use that song to walk in but instead I think we are going to use "Renegades of funk" by rage against the machine. People think its kinda silly ( i dont really care what they think cause its all about me and him that day) but, A rage concert was our first date, and i like the begginig where they say no matter how hard you try, you cant stop us now.

    Good Luck

  2. you could do something fun and up beat that reflects both of your styles, is there a song that you both love to listen to or sing along with? or you could do something that reflects the style of your wedding. better yet, you could just do a drum roll and have the dj announce everyone indvidually, replacing the music with his or her voice introducing the wedding party.

my wedding is on halloween next year and we having the wedding party walk in to the "monster mash" song and having them line up on dance on the dance floor before the dj announces us and we are walking into a drum roll. then as the monster mash song fades out, we will begin dancing to our first dance song.

hope this helps you a little bit.

  3. What about the theme to Austin Powers? That is always fun.

Or, another great song is Supermodel by RuPaul. It's upbeat - and it would be funny to watch the guys walk into a song like that.

Here are a few others that I can think of:

Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard

    You’re The One That I want – Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta

    Monday Night Football

Love Rollercoaster – Red Hot Chili Peppers

    Footloose – Kenny Loggins

    Mission Impossible Theme

We walked into the song "Real Gone" by Sheryl Crow - it's the song that's played in the opening scene of the movie Cars. It was fun and upbeat.

  4. Well there's a really good Jack Johnson song called "Better Together", but it's not funny.

Sublime's "What I Got" might work.  That was played during my garter toss.

There's always the "Married with Children" theme...that's kind of funny.

    Good luck.

  5. It's probably the opposite of what you want but "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eye Peas is a cool song to start a party with.

  6. you know, a beautiful day by U2.  not funny but ill tell you i went to a wedding where they played it as they walked in and it gave me goosebumps. it was the perfact choice. there was a breeze and it was warm and sunny, just perfact

  7. We are doing Lets get ready to rumble by Jock James, because I think it will make people laugh.

"It's a Beautiful Day" by Queen

"We Will Rock You" by Queen

    Another one bites the dust

  8. We had...

Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash

Everyone loved it!  Our DJ even said it was a first and that it was a perfect song for an entrance!

Actually...our bridal party entered to U2's 'A Beautiful Day'...while we entered to Ring of Fire!

  9. We live near Boston, MA.  We walked in to "Love that dirty water."

You need a song that has a recognizable first stanza, or something with a musical intro before the chorus.  Find something that you enjoy, something that relates to your life, her life, your life together, your location, your honeymoon, where you met...SOMETHING.

I personally HATE when the bride and groom are introduced to "Let's get ready to rumble."  Something about a WEDDING and the fact that you're a BRIDE and GROOM just doesn't mesh with that entrance.  Plus, it is soooo overdone!

  10. traditional song here comes the bride

  11. I understand your originally you would like but I think I would kill you for playing pearl jam as my introduction song if I were your wife. I think you picking the song is a test. You want something a little romantic for her and fun for your self.

Star wars entry song I would deal with but I shake my head at the idea

What about Adam Sandler "I want to grow old with you"? it is funny and wedding related.

"Another one bites the dust" by Queen

I personally lean towards Adam Sandler.

  12. Rock You Like a Hurricane!

  13. I don't know about into, but I can tell you that the Whitney Houston dance remix of "Your love is my love" is an awesome one to walk out to.
