  1. Just tell them that you'll be the best team leader you can be and you wont let them down as a leader.

  2. I agree with the other answers, just tell them about good things about you ( like honors) and tell them how much experience you have, and that you will be a great leader and wont let them down, and that you are determined to have a great season with you as their captain.

Please Best Answer, i have never gotten one!

  3. Say that you are a very hard worker, team oriented, and that you wont let your team down if they vote you as their captain.

  4. If you don't have a strong reason for wanting to be captain (other than the title) perhaps you shouldn't be trying to get voted in.

There are a number of reasons why one should want to captain:

    1.  Wanting to lead by example in the team spirit, organization and attitude toward tennis as well as ourselves as players.

    2.  Wanting more input in the pairing of doubles' partners and strategies to win against certain teams.

    3.  Wanting to handle the objections and problems that invariably arise (late start time, disqualifications, need for line 2 judges) in a fair and expedient manner.

Ultimately, a good captain can lead a moderate team to play better.  A lesser captain may do no harm but may not add value, either.

Captaining is more than just cheering your friends on.  It requires the knowledge of all rules and the temperament to behave professionally despite intense feelings of frustration and anger.  It is also an added burden to be captain while playing.

If you think you want to do this, then say so.

    There's your speech.
