I'm only 17 so i can only ride a 250cc legally in state of Arkansas. But I'm wondering if i learn on a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, what's a good bike to jump on in the 600cc range once i become of age and more experienced?

Suzuki GSXR-600, Honda CBR600RR, Yamaha R6, or a Kawasaki 636 Ninja??

  1. wht ever bike fits ur needs

  2. i'd say the kawasaki 636 they are a bit more affordable and are just and is better for a beginer bike

  3. All of the answers are pretty good.  Basicly in the 600 class it all comes down to what YOU think is more comftorble, looks the best, and know the best.  If you learn on the Ninja 250R then switching to a bigger kawa like the 636 or even the 2008 ZZR600 would not be a bad choice. Mainly because the feel of a kawasaki would be more familiar then switching to a whole diferent maker.

But just go around bike shop to bike shop, sitting on different bikes and talking to sales men about the bikes, and figure out which one looks the best to you. Find out all the info you can about the bikes from sales men and just decide from there.

They're all great bikes, all lf them have the potential to be a race bike and an everyday cruising bike. So good luck in deciding.

Edit: ALSO  heres how bikes compare these days,  GSXR's are known for having a slightly higher top end, but not so great in weight and handeling.   the CBR has the better acceleration and low end RPM's but can lack in the high end RPM range.  Yamaha's YZF-R6 is best known for its handeling capabilities and large suspention adjustments but lack in the low RPM range. The Kawasaki Ninja is a bit bulky and heavy like the GSX-R but the front suspention is really good and it also handels well.

So yeah they all have their strengths and weakness so it comes down to personal prefrence

  4. deffinately the honda

  5. All the bikes are essentially the same. I have an 05 GSXR 600 and i'm just being honest. I look down on Kawi's cause i think they are made cheap, but the truth is, if your not taking them out on a track, your not going to push the envelope with any of them. My buddy just bought a new R6, those are some nice bikes too. It really comes down to which one catches your eye and comes in the look you want. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

  6. I started with my 1600 harley davidson buell.

  7. All the listed bikes are weapons and your choice should come down to the one that you feel comfortable on so when it comes time for you to upgrade go and test ride them all. Don't buy a bike because you've been told it's so much better then the others it's a personal choice and YOU need to be comfy as you could be sitting on it for hours at a time.

  8. I have a 2006 Ninja 250 and I love it. The mileage is great, and I can zip around town through traffic and park it anywhere.  It is a great learning bike and will get you used to being on the road well.  Plus after you are done with it, it retains its resale value well to be bought by the next person learning how to ride. Personally, for a second bike, I would get a CBR.  I just love how they look, and its a Honda.  GSXR or Ninja 6x are great too.  The R6 I've tried and it feels a little weak in the lower revs.  Hope this helps.
