What's a good sports bra for a large-chested girl taking martial arts?

The specific sport I'm studying is judo. I'm looking for a good sports bra, but it's a bit hard to find a good one for D-cup. I've noticed most athletes have a smaller chest, which makes it difficult for girls like me to find a good sports bra. The best thing I've found so far are from Champion Athletic wear, high or maximum support. (Then again, it's kinda hard to find maximum for D-cup.)

So my question is two-fold: Where/what is a good sports bra for larger-chested women, and with judo do you think I'd need a high- or maximum-support bra?

  1. First of all, I am an athlete. I like basketball. Sometimes, I use AVON sports bra. Here in New York, we use American brands! Hope this helps.

  2. The gals in my school wear sport bra under a compression shirt to prevent the so called wardrobe malfuncation. The compression shirt helps to keep everything in and from flying out from under the Gi top. They tell me the shirt is really what helps the most because of how it fits the whole torso. Companies like Tapout, Sprawl sell the the shirts. They are also called rash guards. And yes the gals in my school are on the chesty side and do grappling and wrestling so it does work.

  3. first go to centrury twenty one catalog.second get the kind that looks like a sports bra. the inserts go by cup size. my wife and my female students say they are the best all around protection. and great support too.

  4. To get the best support, wear Jockey, Adidas, or Nike, (go to Ross)and wear a simple cotton tee shirt layer over it. Maximum support.

  5. As someone else suggested, wearing a rashguard over a regular sports bra helps a lot.  Also, have you tried wearing two of them?   One of the women at my gym claims that is the way to go.  Another idea, check out fightergirls.net - they just got some new sports bras specifically designed for female athletes with large chests.
