  1. Any stock that has good fundamentals and value.

    You can go to MSN Money (http://moneycentral.msn.com/home.asp ) and use the tab for "investing" and select the top ten or the top fifty stocks, or you can read the commentaries of professionals, or you can follow those in the strategy lab.


  2. RPL, Reliance Capital etc

  3. Retailers like wal mart or mutual funds.

  4. Buy   what Buffett buys .

  5. The answer above me is right.  Buy what Warren Buffett buys.  I buy some of what he buys and the rest into banks.

  6. Stocks in companies in good financial shape that pay a steady dividend.  I like pharmaceuticals for long-term buy and hold investing in particular.  For example, Bristol-Myers-Quibb has paid a dividend for 50 years straight and is currently at a 6% yield.
