Question:

What's a good supplement to take as a vegetarian?

I need to get the right nutrients, because despite my healthier diet, I probably don't take in enough essentials. Any suggestions?

  1. If you're eating a balanced lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, you won't need to take supplements. You should get everything you need from that. However, vegans will need to make sure they're getting B12 through fortified foods or supplements.

    So, eat your tofu, broccoli, fortified cereals, and such! And visit a registered dietitian if you have further questions.


  2. Signacal and centrum.

    I take 1 everyday and I have not been sick in 1 1/2 years.  

  3. Most doctors recommend that people should take one multivitamin a day (whether they are vegetarian or not). Food is still the best place to receive your nutrients, but if you are looking for a little back up just get a regular multivitamin(look out for gelatin and other non vegetarian ingredients).

    If you are older(and not in the sun, or wear sunscreen a lot), you may want to take an extra D vitamin. Studies have shown that a good number of people are lacking in vitamin D.

  4. You can take lots of different supplements that you can get at heath stores, and you can try what I do, which is eat veggie meals, because they have lots of protein in them, and other things made for vegetarians. Look up Morning Star Farms food company for veggie meals. They have lots of options for you to choose from.

    how is  this proof you're not getting what you need daily?

    you are going to get the nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

    don't fall for that meatatarian propaganda that the government started by brainwashing them.

    no vegetarian needs a supplement.

    stop listening to meatatarians.. of course they're trying to stop you!  think about it.     your diet is almost too perfect and theirs is in need of dire help.

  7. If you aren't drinking b12 fortified drinks and foods,then take spirulina tablets.  

  8. Food supplement rich in vitamins A, C & D.
