  1. A thank you note. Really. They don't do it for the gifts, but getting a thank you note is the best thing ever. And when you get accepted to the college, send another note letting him/her know you got in and say how much you appreciate the help he/she gave you during your high school years. That will REALLY make his/her day! :-)

    Good luck with college!

  2. madame etiquette suggests that you hand write a thank you letter on some fancy (not too fancy) paper and mail it to him/her hand written letters mean alot

  3. I have written many for students and here is what I, personally, would love:  A hand-written thank you after your first semester grades, with a copy of your grade (good of course!) report. That would just mean so much to me, speaking as a teacher--to know my recommendation helped get you there, and you made the effort to succeed !! Good luck in school :)

  4. I do not think A GIFT is proper. I feel an honest Thank you letter is correct.

  5. A letter saying "We did it!  I have been accepted!"

A photo of you in front of your college with a note saying "Without your guidance, I might not be here!  I promise to study my #&& off! lol  or "I won't let you down or if you ever need a doctor (career choice) I will give you a good rate."

If the teacher was and English teacher say "thanx fer al ur help. im

off da hook . im gona do good hear."

Make sure it is on paper and not emailed.
