What's a good used very sporty car that I can get for around 10 thousand?

I'm looking for a really nice sporty car (used) that I can get for around $10,000. Anything around 20 MPG will be fine with me. I also need to be able to drive it year round (Winter in Michigan).

I want something with good looks and speed. It would be nice to get a SMALL list of makes and models so I can start shopping around.

  2. I wouldn't buy a car until you look at the gov. car listings in your area. You can save thousands literally instead of getting the high end dealer prices, plus gas is way to high for that! I got a 06 Chevy Cobalt for only 6,988!! I couldn't find a better deal anywhere. So it pays off to be patient. You can check the gov. listings in your area, I will have to copy the link and place it below. Good luck and remember to find the best deal!

  3. An older Accord coupe with the 6cylinder and a manual transmission is a sporty car good mileage, very dependable and it will be OK in Mi with a nice set of snow tires. Ditto for the Honda Civic maybe an SI model. I would also suggest you look at the VW Jetta's and GTI's. Look for a private owner vehicle with some service records. Stay away from the larger dealers if you can (too much price mark-up). I would also get a CarFax report before you purchase one and have a certified mechanic go over the vehicle before you purchase it. I have owned VW's and Honda's and I live in MI as well. The VR6 GTI is a very fun car just make sure it wasn't abused. Good Luck!
