What's a good veterinarian in the Ottawa area?

I'm looking for a Vet that people have had good experiences with in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. We used to go to Altavista on Bank but i really felt they were more salesmen than anything. It was really expensive and they were trying to sell us on tons of things our dog didn't need.

I really want to give our business to a place that doesn't treat their patients like that.

Anyone really happy with the Vet they go to? Please tell me about it.

A good veterinarian is one that doesn't have a dodgy success rate.

Two Places, that I have used that are really good.

1. Beechwood Animal Hospital 748-9820 on Beechwood past Springfield Rd.

2. Glebe Pet Hospital on bank st. just past the queensway 233-8326.

Try looking at yellow page in Ottawa area for different kinds of vet place.

Get referrals from people who lives in Ottawa, you can ask people at dog shows, you can also ask at pet grooming shop or at pet store for their recomendation. These people tend to be less bias toward another businesses as long as it doesn't affect their own businesses.

I highly recommend that you ask the people at dog shows or people that join a dog training class or an event that result in social gathering of dogs for either showing, sports, or whatever. That way you can get many opinions on may vet places in ottawa.
