  1. My niece was pre-med and had such a vigorous schedule she wanted to focus all of her time on her studies so took no extra-curricular activities and did not work.

She graduated with great grades and did really well on the MCAT and was not accepted into medical school.  She was told by numerous people that she should have shown her interest and seriousness in the career by working in a health related field while attending school, even if it were volunteering at the local hospital.

Whatever you decide to do, make the effort to get a job that shows you are serious about making the career commitment.  My niece put her time in after graduation by taking on a very low paying clinical hospital job for two years after she graduated.  The good news is, she retook  the MCAT and was just accepted to medical school.

  2. If you have office skills try to get in the billing office or the medical records office. Go to your local hospitals and check the job board well I believe most hospitals have websites now and look for the job with the least experience required. It may be the kitchen, laundry, housekeeping, warehouse or central supply and or pbx operator.

    Good luck and God Bless.

  3. apply for a non-medical job.....and watch for the job you want....

  4. You have to be certified for all nursing and most lab jobs, so you either need to take a quick course as a nursing assistant or apply in admissions, security (even they have hours for their certs) or financial everyone else is going to want a certification.
