What's a good way to lose weight using what I have?

I have two 10LB dumbells and I can get larger ones, I need to lose a significant amount of weight (I am 240 pounds) and going to the gym/buying a peice of equipment for my place is not an option. What are some good healthy eating trends to follow, and what kind of excersises can I do using my dumbells and a gym mat? I'm fine with devoting an hour a day to exercise. Any help would be much appreciated, and the most thorough answer will get 10 points.

  1. if you can run.do that run for a few minutes let your heart speed up.then walk till it slows down.then run again till it speeds up then walk again till it slows down.plus you have to eat moderately one sandwich at lunch.when you get hungry again go walking or something to keep your mind off it till you train your body again.good kuck.i did that and lost 2 sizes in clothes in 3 weeks.
