Question:

What's a good way to raise money for a People to People trip?

I got an invitation in the mail!

And it costs $6,500 to go! Yikes!

Unfortunately, my family's a little low on the money right now. I haven't been getting allowance. Mom doesn't want to let me work any jobs I actually could work (being not out of high school yet, the only ones that seem to be open are cashiering, cashiering, or cashiering).

I do well in academics and love doing bead work. How could I profitably sell jewelry? Where do I sign up to tutor someone for pay? Is there anything else I could do?

Any help would be seriously appreciated.

  1. I also went on a Student Ambassador Trip to Europe in the summer of '07. There is a website hosted by People to People that helps students raise money to "Fund Their Journey". The website is www.fundingyoureducation.org. This is a great way to start raising money for your trip. There are also other ways like selling candy, having raffles, holding a luncheon, or even hosting your own Applebee's Flapjack! Applebee's will give you the restaurant for the morning to help fund your journey!

I wish you the best of luck and I hope to find you as a member of the People to People Ambassador Community!
