  2. Greetings, I'm a 34A/B and have 36" hips so I can relate! I found the most flattering style to be a-line with a basque waist and boned top to add definition. I also chosen a dress with straps since I have no chest to hold up a strapless lol. They offered ot put fake b***s in my dress but I declined and am having it altered to flatter my REAL figure.

A-line will not accentuate the hips but will flow away from the body to define the waist. Try some halters too, sometimes they can create the illusion of cleavage.

Good luck, you'll find the right dress, no worries!

  3. A-line AND Empire waist. Because the waist starts up high and the skirt flares out, it should be large enough that your hips won't be noticable against the size it is that far down. Also, some styles they can alter (when they shorten it) by lifting it at the waist, so the skirt is even larger. That's what they're doing for my big-hipped bridesmaids.

  4. A-Line or an Empire Waist. I had the same problem. If you are less conservative you could pull off a low v neck halter. Think Debra Messing. She is smaller chested and still manages to pull off really s**y gowns. The truth is you'll probably good in almost anything.

  5. I have the same figure and i got a ball gown... like the corset at the top and flowing from the hips down

  9. Here are what a few websites say that I found:

Pear shaped. A-line princess dresses disguise fuller hips and the pear shaped body types best.  This also balances torso to bust. Chapel length bridal veils add sleeker lines. For wedding hairstyles don’t have all your hair swept up to help emphasize balance.

Pear shaped brides want to buy a wedding dress that puts emphasis on their small waistline. They could also ideally get away with wearing a strapless or off the shoulder dress with a full skirt. The Cinderella gown is perfect for this body shape

    Pear-shaped Brides

For the pear-shaped bride, a wedding gown which draws attention to the upper body and creates a look of balance between the shoulders and fuller lower body is best.  A tank-style bodice, an off-the-shoulder wedding gown, or a sweetheart neckline with textured surfaces and decoration on the edges all help draw the eye upward.   If the pear-shaped bride's waist is narrow, then she may consider a drop waist bodice with beaded trim to further minimize the hips.   Pear-shaped brides should probably avoid clingy fabrics and straight wedding gown styles which will only enhance the imbalance between the shoulders and hip-line.

  10. You want to pick a dress that accentuates the bust area and takes away from the hip area.  Look for something that is more decorative up top and plane on the bottom.  Make sure there aren't any designs on the hip area that would draw attention to that area (assuming its an area you want to hide).  Also, don't go for wide dresses.  A lot of big hip girls tend to dress wide when they really should go for straightline.  It's more flattering (I'm very bottom heavy as well).

    Somthing like these dresses:
