What's a great camera to buy?

I'm planning to buy one of those Nikon d60 cameras but I'm also wondering about Canon cameras. What's a great camera to buy that takes great quality pictures at a decent price?

Holga ( cheap film camera) is the best camera ever made. But for digital camera I would go with the canon digital rebel. It takes awhile to learn to use it but is well worth the effort.
